About Betty Lin

Betty Lin, pianist and cellist, born in 1982, is a native of Taiwan. She received her Master Degree in Music Performance and Bachelor Degree in Music Education. As an award-winning competition musician, Ms. Lin placed second in the prestigious Vienna Music Education National Music Competition for Piano in 2001.

As a cellist and pianist, Betty has performed many concerts mostly in Central Texas including Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, Wimberley, Manchaca, Dallas and in Taiwan. In 2010, she was invited by New York Singer Rodney Perkins to perform at Incarnate Word Auditorium and One World theater. In the same year, she performed with Round Rock Symphony Orchestra. In 2009, she played with the musical “Nunsense” at The Austin City Theater, and performed for Texas Asian Chamber of Commerce for New Year celebration; In the same year, she performed with Shelly Chen for “Keep Austin Spicy” at the Fiesta Garden. In 2008, she accompanied the Austin Chinese Chanson Choir performed with Austin Chinese Choir and Crystal Youth Choir for Texas Friendship Concert tour; In the same year, she performed with Shelly Chen and Austin Chinese Chanson Choir for “Given lights to rebuild hope for China Earthquake Disaster Relief Performance” at the Texas State Capital. In 2008 and 2007, she was invited by The Starlight Symphony Orchestra, Mid-Texas Symphony Orchestra, and The Austin Pops Orchestra to perform with them.

Ms. Lin is a member of the College Music Society, the American String Teachers Association, The National Guild of Piano Teacher, and the Music Teachers National Association. She owns a music studio in Austin, where she gives private music lessons.
